Have you ever been here? You think you’re a seasoned Simulated Universe veteran, but you get completely lost staring down the blood-red star map of Swarm Disaster. You try to speed run with The Hunt, only to get overwhelmed by endless waves of swarming bugs. The countdown on your screen ticks down nonstop, your Planar Disorder level climbs higher and higher, and you can’t decide if you should be scared or push forward. You treat it like just another harder version of regular Simulated Universe, only to get completely wiped by the boss on the third plane.
This is just old-school, outdated thinking: you’re trying to challenge a nonlinear disaster with a linear, outdated strategy.
But at the same time, another Trailblazer is cruising through Swarm Disaster with zero issues. They ignore the threat of the countdown, actively step into Swarm Battle tiles, and even intentionally hit blank tiles to trigger more Swarm attacks. Their Planar Disorder level skyrockets, but their team also gains a massive stack of Audience Trait buffs. By the time they face the True Sting Swarm boss, they’ve already unlocked the hidden Propagation Path, and every basic attack deals massive, world-shattering spore damage, easily clearing the highest difficulty that you couldn’t touch.
The gap between these two experiences all comes down to understanding Swarm Disaster’s core mechanics. It isn’t just another dungeon—it’s a battle of risk management and strategic expansion. This guide will fully break down how to handle the Swarm, dive deep into how to unlock the Propagation Path, and share the ultimate clear strategy.
Swarm Disaster was designed specifically to break the comfort zone players built up in regular Simulated Universe. If you go in with the old mindset of “brute force with high level characters” and “pick any blessings you want”, you’ll immediately get punished by the two new mechanics: the countdown and Planar Disorder. This is the first mistake every new Trailblazer makes.
The countdown in the top right corner of your screen is the first big wall new players hit. Players instinctively see it as a hard time limit and get anxious. They’ll rush straight for the boss taking the shortest possible path no matter what, actively avoiding all battle and event tiles just to clear before the timer runs out.
Case Study: Player Mike tries to save steps by only moving across blank tiles the entire run. This means he never triggers Swarm events to get key Audience Trait buffs, and never enters battle tiles to collect blessings. When he finally reaches the boss room, he has plenty of time left on the clock, but his team is completely underequipped with zero buffs, and gets easily wiped by the boss. He never understood that the countdown’s real purpose is to force you to plan your path, not just race to the finish.
Your Planar Disorder level is Swarm Disaster’s core mechanic. Every time it goes up a level, enemy stats get stronger. Old-school players instinctively fear this number, and do everything they can to avoid Swarm tiles and Swarm Leader tiles, trying to keep their Disorder level as low as possible.
Case Study: This is a huge mistake. Planar Disorder isn’t just a punishment—it’s a reward. Every time you enter a Swarm tile and win, even though it raises your Disorder level, you get a powerful permanent global Audience Trait buff. The higher your Disorder level, the more skill tree points you get at the end of the run. Players who try to keep their level low end up losing to the boss simply because they don’t have enough buffs.
Swarm Disaster’s final boss, the True Sting Swarm, is a nightmare for single-target burst paths like The Hunt. Its core mechanic activates when you break its weakness or drop its health below a certain threshold: it immediately splits into 2 to 4 smaller bugs that keep its full toughness.
Case Study: A Hunt player confidently unloads all their Path Echo and main DPS ultimate onto the boss, dealing massive damage. The boss immediately splits, and all that damage is completely wasted. The split small bugs take their turns right away, their high-frequency attacks and Nettle Debuff instantly delete the player’s squishy DPS. The player used a single-target mindset to challenge an AoE-focused encounter.
To conquer Swarm Disaster, you have to embrace its new rules. The core of these new rules is unlocking the hidden Propagation Path, and learning how to turn risk (Planar Disorder) into power with Audience Traits.
The Propagation Path is the power of the Aeon Tayzzyronth, and it’s the official intended solution for clearing Swarm Disaster. It’s the ultimate build for any basic attack-focused character.
This set of blessings turns characters like Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, Blade, Qingque, and Jingliu into infinite-turn combo machines that perfectly counter the boss’s split mechanic.
Audience Traits act as a permanent skill tree for Swarm Disaster. You don’t start empty-handed anymore: you can permanently unlock nodes by completing in-run challenges (like stepping on 10 Swarm tiles total). These buffs are active for every future Swarm Disaster run you do. That means the more you run, the stronger your starting stats get—this is a “the more you play, the easier it gets” mechanic.
This is the most important question for new players. Propagation is hidden in Swarm Disaster, and you need to complete a specific questline to unlock it. The full steps are below:
Once you’ve unlocked Propagation and built up your Audience Trait skill tree, you’re ready to take on high difficulty (Difficulty 4 and 5). You need a clear strategy framework to pick the right winning approach for your run.
On high difficulty, your goal isn’t just to clear—it’s to grind buffs. You need to intentionally plan your route to hit the tiles that progress your Audience Trait node unlocks. For example, if your challenge requires you to enter 20 Swarm Battle tiles total, you need to prioritize those tiles when choosing your path. Don’t be afraid of higher Planar Disorder—this is exactly how you get stronger.
On Difficulty 5, the boss has extremely high health and damage, and only a handful of paths can guarantee a foolproof clear. We break down each top option below:
Story-wise, Swarm Disaster tells the tale of the Propagation Aeon Tayzzyronth, who was destroyed because of his endless expansion. The gameplay itself is a philosophical meditation on the same theme: expansion versus destruction.
This ultimately leads to a core choice for your journey as a Trailblazer: Will you be a Preservation player, carefully planning every step, searching for the safest route to survive under the pressure of the countdown? Or will you embrace the madness of Propagation, actively seek out the challenge of the Swarm, dance on the edge of destruction from Planar Disorder, and beat one form of expansion (the Swarm) with your own (endless basic attacks)?
The moment you unlock the Propagation Path, you stop just fighting the Swarm—you become the Swarm.
